Karen is the founder of SHINE at HOThead Studios. Her forte is producing live television. Karen has honed her producing skills spearheading new shows at several networks including MTV, Lifetime, ABC, and has launched shows on FX and Oprah's network, Oxygen. Karen is the recipient of the Gracie Allen Award for Excellence in Journalism for her work with Gayle King at Oxygen, two Cable Ace awards, and has several Emmy nominations.
Casting & Voiceover Director
As an Emmy nominated Casting Director and Private Acting Coach, Leslie specializes in casting for all areas of television. Most recently, Leslie was the Executive Casting Director for Nick Jr.'s New York office with an expertise in animation Principle Casting for series such as "Dora The Explorer", "Bubble Guppies", and "The Backyardigans." She was the East Coast Casting Director for live-action contract role searches for all Nickelodeon Networks. Credits include: "Victorious", "How to Rock", and "Rags". Before Leslie was a Casting Director, she was a Talent Agent at Cunningham, Escott, Slevin & Doherty(CESD NY).
As a former manager of the undergraduate Animation Department at the School of Visual Arts, Lisa instructed seminars in Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro, while working with more than 200 aspiring animators. Her most recent endeavors include her work with TED-Ed (TED Education) where she contributes animation, compositing and design skills on a series of projects that capture the voices of the world's greatest educators by combining animation with educator's lessons. Lisa has also worked as a Visiting Teaching Artist for FilmAid International and conducted animation and filmmaking workshops for refugee youth in Kenya's Dadaab Refuge Camp.
Jim is the sound guru and owner of HOThead Studios. A recipient of almost every prestigious award in television and radio including Emmys, BDAs and Clio's, Jim is regarded as an innovative sound designer, musician, and recording engineer of spots, trailers, TV movies and features. For more than 15 years, he has created the music and sound for Nickelodeon that is now part of many children's everyday life. He lists guitar, Ukulele, lap steel and Mandola in his musical repertoire.
Mike Enright is a visual artist with a body of work that includes painting, animation, and video art. Native to Philadelphia PA, he now resides in Brooklyn NY where he is a faculty member at Pratt Institute's Department of Digital Arts. He holds an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts and a BFA in Media Art/ Animation from The University of the Arts..
Jay is a versatile sound designer and composer who is an expert in creating audio and music content for a wide variety of media that includes TV, radio, film and video games. He received the Award of Excellence and was recognized by the Los Angeles Movie Awards for his work on the film “All That Remains”. Most recently, he was responsible for the dialogue on “Bioshock Infinite” for Xbox360 and the sound design of “Blockt” for Xbox 360. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, with a Bachelor of Music specializing in Electronic Production and Design. This education was the perfect opportunity for him to combine his proficiency in music with a diverse skill set centered on digital audio, music theory, and technology. He plays upright and electric bass, guitar and keyboards.
